Compress
Compress images
Re-encode JPG and WEBP at a quality level you choose, and scale the pixel dimensions down if you want a bigger saving. Each result shows how much smaller it got.

The converter needs JavaScript, because the conversion itself runs on your own device rather than on a server. Enable JavaScript to load it.
Two ways to make an image smaller
Lower the quality
The quality slider controls how aggressively JPG and WEBP discard detail. Around 80–85% is usually indistinguishable from the original while cutting the file size substantially.
Reduce the dimensions
Most oversized images on the web are simply too many pixels. Halving the width and height cuts the pixel count to a quarter, which is normally the single biggest saving available.
Which format to compress to
WEBP typically produces files 25–35% smaller than JPG at matching quality, and every current browser displays it. JPG remains the safest choice for email attachments and older software. PNG is lossless, so re-encoding a photo as PNG will usually make it larger, not smaller.

Frequently asked questions
How much smaller will my images get?
It depends on the source. A photo straight from a phone camera commonly drops by 60–80% at 85% quality with no visible difference. An image that is already compressed will save less.
Does compressing lose quality?
JPG and WEBP are lossy, so some detail is discarded. The original file on your device is never modified, so you can always try a different setting.
Can I compress PNG images?
PNG is lossless, so there is no quality dial to turn. The effective approach is to reduce the dimensions, or convert to WEBP or JPG, both of which this tool does.
Is there a limit on how many images I can compress?
No. Because the work happens on your device, there is no quota, no queue and no daily cap.
