MP3 to WAV
Decode MP3 and other compressed audio into uncompressed WAV, with optional trimming and volume adjustment. Because the conversion runs in your browser rather than on a server, your file is never uploaded, never stored and never seen by anyone else.
Drop your file to start.
The converter needs JavaScript, because the conversion itself runs on your own device rather than on a server. Enable JavaScript to load it.
When you need WAV
WAV holds raw PCM samples with no compression, which is what audio editors, DAWs, samplers, game engines and most transcription tools prefer as input. Working from WAV avoids repeated lossy re-encoding as a project passes through several tools.
The file will be much bigger
A four-minute stereo track at 44.1 kHz is roughly 40 MB as WAV, whatever the MP3 weighed. Converting also cannot restore detail the MP3 encoder already discarded; it simply stops any further loss.

Frequently asked questions
Does converting MP3 to WAV improve the audio?
No. Detail removed by MP3 compression is gone for good. WAV prevents further loss but adds nothing back.
Why is the WAV file so much larger?
WAV is uncompressed, storing every sample in full. Roughly 10 MB per minute of stereo audio is normal.
Can I convert to MP3 instead?
No. Browsers do not provide an MP3 encoder to web pages, so that conversion cannot be done without a server. Only WAV output is offered.
Can I trim the audio first?
Yes. The start and end controls in Settings limit the export to any section, and volume can be scaled at the same time.
